Tavurvur Volcano - Rabaul 2002
CHM Supersound is Papua New Guinea's biggest music label. In the early 70s and into the 80s in the town of Rabaul, CHM was a little Chinese shop, off Mango Avenue owned by Mr. Chin Hoi Min. There you could by firecrackers, mosquito coils, kerosine lamps, batteries, hand held mirrors etc. At the front you could also buy ice cream and cold drinks. By the mid 80's CHM had opened a music recording studio. The studio and Rabaul town itself was destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1994.
